I was looking to publish my life story and more, and I was contacted by at least three different publishers. I chose Authorhouse, after they seemed the most interested, and I made sure they would publish it regardless of it's content. I was emphatic about the content and whether or not they would publish it, and they continuously told me they would publish it and any liability would fall on me.

I, much later, was told that the content was complicated, and I would have to submit documentation. I submitted over 30 pieces of evidence/documentation to support my book, and they told me that the story was more complicated than most. That makes for a good story, and be sure to read it on this site since they won't publish it.

After I submitted a lot of evidence to them, they wrote me back and said that my story was more complicated than most, and they couldn't publish it, but they would publish my poetry/songs. They should have realized that it was complicated prior to my sending them all the evidence I had to support my claims to make it less "complicated." The poetry/songs go with the story, and there would be no substance behind them without the story.

This has taken longer than I thought, and it's against what I was told, and I jumped through hoops for them, and in the end, they aren't publishing my book, which I already paid for.

Choose another publisher if you ever want to write a book.
